One of this year’s DCM highlights was Seth Morris’s UCB homecoming. A year ago, I caught Seth and Tony Camin’s “Bro’in Out” at PSNBC. That night they had booked Mother member and Old School screenwriter Scot Armstrong, The Daily Show’s Rob Corddry (who had hosted the Webby Awards the night before) and fellow old school Naked Baby and Optimist International bad-ass Brian Huskey. And if that weren’t enough, Jeffrey and Jack Lewis performed. I miss PSNBC.

Matchgame ’76 & UCBW @ Del Close Marathon – July 29, 2006


From the outset, Matchgame ’76, crackling with drunken put-your-fist-through-a-windshield energy, seemed poised to self-destruct. Then, only minutes into it, John Wayne Gacy used a shoelace to strangle Flipper and things went pear-shaped. Not to be outdone, UCBW took the disheveled stage with all the sound and fury of a hurricane’s infected urinary tract (like all improv, you just had to be there). And Tomoyasu Hotei‘s Battle Without Honor or Humanity as the show’s soundtrack seemed especially inspired. Man-ass after the jump.
