These days, Dave Matthews Band is like the fat, bloated Elvis. But 14 years ago, at a leaky-roofed bar in Austin, they put on one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. And even before the show, at the Tower Records on the Drag, Dave, Stefan and Boyd played an acoustic set that was just as impressive (since then, Dave’s signature has morphed into this). I miss that band. Rest in peace, LeRoi.
