‘We Want to Be Green’ by WSJ.com Evening Shift

Vodpod videos no longer available.

I shot this video with the help of my fellow WSJ.com Night Crew members. It’s basically a rip-off of the Dunder-Mifflin commercial from The Office, but I think we put the same amount of heart into it as Michael Scott and Team Scranton.  I thought about putting more “bits” into the piece, but the slightly too-earnest, cheesy overtone seems to work better.

“Dow Jones soon will launch its energy initiative, a program intended to help the environment by reducing the amount of carbon we consume. As part of the effort, we want to invite your participation via a video contest. We’d like departments, locations or even individuals around the globe to submit videos to illustrate the value of energy efficiency and resources conservation in our offices. We want to see your ideas and maybe your faces too.”

Special thanks (in order of appearance) to Elliott Ramos, Meredith D’Agnolo, Kate Milani, Jim Chairusmi, Aaron Rutkoff, Lydia Serota, Roy Shepard, Jennifer Hicks, Jessica Marmor, Howard Godfrey and Jim Willhite. Music: “I Love NYE” by Badly Drawn Boy.
