Here are a few interesting facts pertaining to the following photos.
• Desiree’s birthday was a really fun time, despite my brief pouting session for having arrived 1.5 hours early.
• Occasionally, we’d walk back to the dining area to listen to Norah Jones, who according to The New York Times, “is also a member of various bands — the Sloppy Joannes, the Mazelles, the Little Willies — who show up as opening acts at no-cover-charge places like the Rodeo Bar.” (Jan. 21, 2007).
• This is my first attempt mimicking a photo-exposure technique honed by one of my favorite photographers, Nikola Tamindzic.

This is probably my favorite photo of Rebekka Johnson. It’s simple, quiet and clean, which is pretty much the complete opposite of her style of improvisation. But if you know Rebekka, then you know there’s a river of comedic-hot lava bubbling under the surface, waiting to erupt into: “Diiiicks!!!!” In honor of Candy Apple’s (and Beej’s) departure for Los Angeles, I asked a bunch of people to send me their thoughts about the Queen Bee of Improv, and how she has affected them as improvisers. Fancy Dragon competes in the first round of SketchProv. Roughly two minutes into the set, the power in the building goes out due to a power surge. Fancy D gets handed two flashlights. And they keep playing. It was awesome.
